Relaxed Dining In The Yorkshire Dales
Situated in the picturesque market town of Leyburn and nestling on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National park, Thirteen brings to the table great food at reasonable prices in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
Thirteen serves seasonal, freshly cooked food with an unashamedly British bias.
The menu at Thirteen has a huge bias towards being naturally ‘Gluten Free’, those few dishes that are not can be tweaked by Michael to ensure they are! We use Doves Farm Gluten Free flours wherever possible and always have a separate ‘fryer’ to ensure that even on a gluten free diet you can still enjoy our wonderful ‘triple cooked chips’!
We can cater for most dietary requirements, however, ‘advance notification is required‘ as Michael runs the kitchen single handed and although dishes are all cooked to order, accompaniments i.e. sauces, purees etc. are made throughout the day of service, if you arrive for your table and advise that you have strict dietary requirements without prior notice we cannot guarantee our dishes will be suitable.
Key to the ethos of the restaurants carefully crafted menu is the sourcing of the best local ingredients that the Yorkshire Dales has to offer. Our suppliers include R & J Catering Butchers at Waterford Farm, Kirkby Malzeard, Hodgson Fish from Hartlepool, Ribblesdale Cheese Company here in Wensleydale, Yorkshire Quality Foods based in Richmond to name but a few. Our local wine merchant is Firth & Co Wines based near Bedale with local ales from Yorkshire Dales Brewery in Askrigg, just up the road!
We believe that your dining experience at Thirteen should be exceptional, whether you’re joining us for lunch with friends, dinner with the family or a big celebration.
We are happy to cater for tables of up to 10 persons, however a pre order would be required for this number. Please contact us to discuss further.
Thirteen is owned and run by husband and wife team Michael and Sarah McBride having taken the reins on 25th July 2014 – and have just past their third anniversary at the Restaurant!
In September 2017 we were thrilled to be awarded

the first award for the restaurant!! This year (2018) we have retained our One Rosette !! Well Done Team!
Michael has worked in some of the best kitchens in North Yorkshire including The Grange Hotel – York, The Black Swan – Helmsley and latterly The Blue Lion – East Witton.
Sarah is front of house at Thirteen. Having worked in and out of the industry in varying roles and having a wealth of administration experience.
They met when they were both working at The Grange Hotel in York, the rest as they say is history…..
Along with a small fab team including Kay, Lauren and Megan, they strive to make your visit to Thirteen a relaxed and enjoyable experience.
